I am delighted to be able to offer fitting and sales for Scoot Boots. Those of you who have ridden with me before will know that both my horses are barefoot and always have been. You will also appreciate that we ride a high number of miles over varied and often challenging and stony terrain. Scoot Boots enable me to keep my horses comfortable whilst staying as natural as possible.

Trying Hoof Boots for the first time can be daunting if you are unsure how to measure for them, or what you are looking for when fitting. I have many years of experience using hoof boots and can help you to get started on your barefoot journey. With a selection of variants and accessories available, Scoot Boots are designed to fit as wide a range of hoof shapes as possible but I can advise if they are not suitable for your horse’s hoof shape.

Fitting Service

For an initial call out cost of £60 (within a 30 mile radius of DE4, added fuel costs may be levied outside this area) I will visit you and your horse to size your Scoot Boots. This is done using fitting shells so the fit can be evaluated prior to introducing the boots. It is extremely helpful if you can provide either rough measurements, or measurement and suitability photos prior to your appointment. Please see the photos below for information on how best to do this. Measurements and fittings should ideally be done within 2 weeks of a fresh trim.

Suitability photos: With the camera at floor level take a photo from the front and side of the hoof to show the shape of the walls and angle of the coronet band.

Measurement photos: Measure width across the widest part of the hoof. Measure length from toe to heel terminating at the buttress, shown in the image by the red line.
