Introducing your guides
Catering exclusively to riders with their own horses, Peak District Guided Horse Rides was established in 2020 in response to the pandemic, when Ellen’s career as a musician had to be placed on hold. Having always been ‘that friend’ with a head full of fun riding routes and a horse that would take anything encountered along the way in his stride, the progression to becoming guides was a natural one.
Prince
Prince is the horse upon which the business has been built. He really is one in a million, turning his hoof to anything you ask of him. He can help me to open the trickiest of gates, stare down the most truculent of bulls, and all whilst making the other horses and riders with us feel at ease. He also has a sense of humour, which some of you may have been treated to witnessing!
Rebel
Rebel joined the business in 2021 when our ever increasing client base and range of routes indicated that reinforcements were going to be needed. Purchased as a just-backed 3 year old, he had mastered the art of opening gates before his 4th birthday and spent the first 2 years of his ridden career shadowing Prince and learning his trade. Now an able deputy, he shares the guiding duties equally.
Guided Rides for All…..
We like nothing better than showing horses and riders around some of the amazing routes we’re so lucky to have on our doorstep. We cater for both experienced riders looking for a change of scenery, or those wanting to build confidence out hacking for themselves and their horses. Guided rides afford you the opportunity to relax and enjoy your ride without the worry of finding routes, reading maps or dealing with any pesky gates en route.
General Group Rides
Designed to be a step up from riding out with a friend but without the higher octane atmosphere of a fun or hunt ride, which can upset some horses, our small group rides are limited to a maximum of 8 riders, including guide(s). The group operates as a unit so there are no worries about horses passing at speed and we always go at the pace required by the least experienced combination. Detailed route descriptions are designed to help riders to choose the most suitable option for their combination’s level of experience and fitness. If you need help deciding on the best options for you please do get in touch and we’ll be more than happy to make some suggestions.
Private Guided Rides
If you are looking for a more bespoke service then we can arrange private group rides for a date and route of your choice.
One to One Guided Rides
